No. The course focuses on prevention and communication: spotting early signs, calming language, boundaries and disengaging safely. Where there is a risk to physical safety, it teaches staff to step away, call for help and escalate through your organisation's procedures, such as your line manager or security team.
The course is built for front-facing, high-traffic and service-based settings. Scenarios include customer complaints, a distressed hospital patient and a service user passed between departments. It also covers education support roles, such as teaching assistants and pastoral staff. Module 5 focuses on practical strategies for different support settings, including queues, delays, denied requests and complaints.
